รายละเอียด: STONY-IRON METEORITE - Pallasite

Three specimens are all thin slices. The meteorite is a textbook example of a transitional pallasite. All three specimens contains olivine crystals (yellow , red and green ) and also have metal. All three pieces are finish on both sides. Seymchan is a very stable pallasite! The three specimens are beautiful collection pieces cut thin so the crystals are visable.

Complete polished slice 281.3 grams

Very attractive slice with orange, green, and tan-colored olivine crystals. Note very large nickel-iron band running along bottom of specimen.

Find: 1967, Russia, Seymchan, Magadan district. This meteorite was not observed to fall.
Coordinates: 62° 54\' N 152° 26\' E
Class: Iron, coarse octahedrite, or IIE (NHM ) or Iron-ung ( met base) Group: IIE, bandwidth 2.0 mm (officially) or Pallasite
TKW: 322,3 kg in 1967 and more than 50 kg in 2004
Chemical class: Group IIE, 9.15% Ni, 24.6 ppm Ga, 68.3 ppm Ge, 0.55 ppm Ir.

(Stony-Iron meteorite) พบอยู่ประมาณ 1% ของอุกกาบาตทั้งหมดที่พบบนพื้นโลก มีส่วนประกอบที่เป็นเหล็กและหินอยู่เท่า ๆกัน คือ มีส่วนผสมของเหล็กและนิเกิลราว 50% และอีก 50% คือ Silicate Olivine หรือ Pyroxene เป็นชนิดที่หายากที่สุด
